When painful experiences keep affecting daily life, finding time for meaningful treatment can feel difficult. An EMDR intensive offers a different way to organize therapy: concentrated blocks of time around a carefully developed treatment plan. If you are considering this approach, ask Building Hope Counseling about your goals, suitability, and current options.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. In an intensive format, treatment is organized into extended or closely scheduled appointments rather than relying only on a weekly visit. The specific schedule varies. Assessment, preparation, individualized pacing, and review of progress remain important.
More hours alone do not make treatment appropriate or effective. The important questions are what you want help with, what preparation you need, and how the plan will support you during and after the concentrated work. Learn about the EMDR approach.
Some people want dedicated time to focus on a clearly identified concern. Others find a concentrated schedule easier to plan around than recurring appointments over a longer period. Depending on the treatment plan, closely scheduled work may offer greater continuity between sessions.
These are potential advantages of the format, not promises about your results. An intensive can also require a significant commitment of time, energy, and money. Weekly therapy may offer a better pace or more ongoing support for some people. Compare intensive and weekly EMDR.
The aim of EMDR is to reduce distress associated with difficult memories, rather than erase what happened. Goals may include feeling less overwhelmed by reminders, responding differently to familiar triggers, or participating more fully in relationships and daily activities. Your goals should reflect the changes that matter to you.
Progress can vary from person to person and from one concern to another. Processing may remain unfinished at the end of a scheduled block, and additional therapy may be recommended. A defined appointment length cannot guarantee a defined amount of healing.
A conversation about suitability comes before a commitment to a schedule. Topics may include your current concerns, treatment history, daily responsibilities, available support, and how you respond when difficult material comes up. Your clinician can explain what preparation is needed and whether another format or level of care would be more appropriate.
An EMDR intensive is not the same as an intensive outpatient program, inpatient treatment, or crisis service. If you already have a therapist, ask how the providers would coordinate care with your permission.

Prices are in US dollars (USD). Each option is a scheduled block including planned breaks—not continuous EMDR processing. Suitability, preparation, and pacing are discussed before booking.

Assessment, preparation, and follow-up arrangements—and any separate costs—will be confirmed before booking. The listed blocks do not specify that those services are included. Longer scheduled time does not guarantee faster healing or completion of treatment.
The scheduled options are a 3-hour half-day, a 6-hour full-day, two days totaling 12 scheduled hours, or three days totaling 18 scheduled hours. These blocks include planned breaks, not continuous processing. Your clinician will discuss suitability and pacing; assessment, preparation, follow-up, and any separate costs are confirmed before booking.
The scheduled-block prices are $600 for 3 hours, $1,200 for 6 hours, $2,400 for two days (12 scheduled hours), and $3,600 for three days (18 scheduled hours), in USD. Ask for confirmation of assessment, preparation, follow-up, any separate costs, payment expectations, and cancellation terms before booking. Insurance participation and reimbursement depend on the clinician, services, and plan; coverage is not promised.
Ask about current appointment formats and eligibility before making travel plans. Tell us where you will physically be located for treatment. Website access from another state or country does not establish that a clinician can provide therapy there.
That cannot be promised in advance. Assessment, your response to treatment, and ongoing review help determine whether additional sessions or another form of care may be useful.
Use the contact form to share a way to reach you and select EMDR as your general service preference. You can discuss interest in an intensive during the follow-up conversation. Please leave detailed trauma history, diagnoses, and treatment records out of the website form.
